A lifelong artist...

Aaron completed his first oil on canvas at the age of 6. He was always fascinated by the concept of creating images on a blank canvas. When Aaron was in High School he was accepted into a two-year vocational program learning the aspects of commercial art. During the program he placed 1st in the region and 2nd in the state of Washington in designing a logo for a national enterprise, which was used in their campaign. Aaron's work was also chosen as the logo for a new vocational school in the Northwest, and was commissioned by numerous businesses to paint, design murals and do commission work.

Growing up in a military family of years of travel, he developed strong interests in history and culture that is often reflected in his works. Aaron's philosophy is that art is a language with no words.

Since those early years Mr.Wilson continued to create art in a variety of media, graphite, oil, watercolor, acrylic, clay, sculpture, and silkscreen. In 1991 he started painting professionally in juried & invitational shows, winning best of show in the annual Society of Washington Artists show. After chosen the best in show award two consecutive years in the annual SWA show, he concentrated mainly on black and white watercolors, which he had become noted for. Aaron creates earthy tones in his black and white paintings by adding natural organic pigments to the watercolor base that create a variety of effects, hues, and textures to the painting. When he uses this technique, his work is often mistaken for graphite pencil.

Aaron's work is in many private collections through out the United States and continues to show his work in numerous shows. Mr. Wilson's work is now reproduced in prints as a signed artist of the Pittock Mansion and can be purchased at the Pittock Museum store. He continues his art education learning different medias from OCAC and continues classes and studio workshops, and is an active member of the OSA.
